The beauty and skincare markets are full of a variety of brands that make it difficult to know which product will suit your skin the best. With promises that a certain product is guaranteed to remove blemishes, leave skin looking “flawless”, the ingredients are 100% organic and cruelty-free, how can you know which brand you can trust?
My Instagram and TikTok feeds are flooded with content from brands with similar vibes and promises of producing these same results, but nothing was grabbing my attention.

I’ve always cared deeply about supporting brands that share similar values towards giving back to the community and creating environmentally-friendly, clean, and healthy products. Honest Beauty caught my eye for its founding story, socially conscious culture, and commitment to making clean, sustainable, well-designed products.
I’ve used the same skincare products for the past five or so years, so I was hesitant to try something new, fearing that my skin might react differently. I was looking for a product that would help reduce fine lines and leave my skin looking and feeling more radiant and firm.

The brand kindly let me know when my product was out for shipping and it arrived a short three days after I placed the order. It was packaged in a cardboard box with “Honest Beauty” in bold text lining the bottom. Nice touch.
One thing that first caught my attention was the plastic “pillow” to protect the product from being damaged. From an environmental standpoint this made me a bit disappointed in the brand.

I looked through their best sellers and ultimately decided on their Hyaluronic Acid infused Hydrogel Face Cream, a 2019 Byrdie Skincare Winner. I love that the main ingredient is water, contains no parabens, silicones, petrolatum, mineral oil, synthetic fragrances or dyes. 

I immediately took notice of the product’s packaging and labeling. It was just what I expected from the website. Neatly packaged in an aesthetically pleasing way, between the font, color palette and minimalistic design, it was an automatic 5 stars. Each side was strategically used to educate consumers on the ingredients, benefits and how to use it.
